Original 1977 STAR WARS US One-Sheet Style "A" Rolled Poster (First Print). Although Tom Jung's Style "A" artwork met high praise at Fox, the image was not widely circulated at first. Instead, the public was given the Hildebrandt version (not shown)for various media exposures, including newspapers, T-shirts, and retail posters. As a result, when Jung's one-sheet (shown above)was finally given wide exposure, the "Hildebrandt" title was still used by many to refer to this poster.

As was typical for this time, this poster was released in a variety of sizes besides the one-sheet and the Jung half-sheet (22 x 28). It was also available as an insert (14 x 36), a 30x40, a 40x60 (often joined to a cardboard backing and called a standee), a three-sheet (41 x 77), a six-sheet (77 x 79), a seven-sheet (84 x 91), and a twenty-four-sheet billboard (105 x 235). The Star Wars trilogy films were among the last to be represented by so many poster format variations. Photo #1 gives you a good look at the entire poster and it's over all appearance, which is very nice.

Photos #2 and #3, shows the top left corner and bottom right corner which are perfect. I didn't include a picture of the top right corner (which is perfect) because I wanted to show other pictures that needed to be shown. I do have a picture of the top right corner if you need to see it to help you make your decision; I don't mind sending it to you. Photos #4 shows the bottom left corner of the poster. In this picture you can see there is a slight crease to the left of the magnet and right of the magnet.

Photo #5 shows the bottom center of the poster. Now let's get to the posters imperfections, in Photo #6 you are looking at the bottom right side of the poster and you find two small creases, they don't stand out but they are there.

Photo #7 is a small pin hole and a really small brown spot to the bottom left of the hole. These two imperfections are located at the top left of the poster. Photo #8 shows a slight wrinkle about three inches long at the top below the word "away". Photo #9 shows a slight crease that's only noticeable when the light hits it just right. I took this picture at a angle where the light would hit it just right so you could see it; top right of the light spot.

Photo #10 same slight crease; right of light spot; not as big as the one in previous photo. Photo #11 shows faint small brown spots below and to the right of the Star Wars title. Photo #12 is a closeup of Luke and Leia. It has never been folded as you can see, it's colors are still vibrant and the overall condition of the poster is Very Good! This is one of my personal favorite Star Wars posters. I could just stare at it for days, which I have tried to do. I've really enjoyed owning it and have tried to be a good steward of it; I'm really going to miss it.

Pardon me for a minute while I dry my eyes... Sorry about my emotional moment, I'm ok now. Where was I, oh yeah... The artwork is beautiful and it's simplicity pulls it all together.

I love the legions of fighters emerging from behind Leia's dress and the way both our hero's are lite up from behind. Like all my posters, I have kept it rolled when not displayed and in a controlled environment.

If you have any questions please contact me and I will get back with you as soon as possible. If there is a different angle or specific area of the poster that you would like a picture of, contact me! Leave your cell number and I will get it for you. I packaged all my posters very well and pride myself on them making it to their destination in perfect condition. So keep your eyes open for my other auctions. This is a very sought after poster, so don't miss out on it. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU... I've sent those to him but wanted to let you know if you would like to see those photos as well, just contact me and I can provide those to you... The only revision is the text below; sorry for the redundant information. I've never used the revision before and made the mistake of coping everything over.
