She loved this dress so much that was made for the premiere of "The Prince and the Showgirl" she had it made in black as well. This is a beautiful heavy raw silk gown that measures Bust 36 waist 27 hips 36 that was owned and Worn By Actress Marilyn Monroe.
This dress is from the Personal Collection of Marilyn's friend and personal secretary May Reis. It has no tags inside of it but according to the letter it was designed by William Travilla for Marilyn (see Letter). It is in good condition for age with and lined with cone shaping in the breast area. Winner will receive a Personal letter from Ms. Reis stating how she was given this gown by Marilyn simply because she admired it.
The letter is dated in 1979 on May Reis Letterhead paper and has been signed by her. I will also include a letter of Authenticity from Movie Star Clothing, LLC stating how I came to own it which will be signed and stamped.
May Reis was very good friends with Marilyn Monroe and worked for her and attended her funeral in 1962. She was one of the few people mentioned in her will. Don't miss a beautiful Gown from an Icon! Because of the fragility of the item it is NOT returnable.
The seams will need to be re-inforced if you plan on wearing.
