Light green cardstock, 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" with rounded corners. Studio passes were given to press and industry representatives, allowing the bearer access to the studio's lot and sets. It reads in full: Samuel Goldwyn Inc. 1041 Formosa Avenue, Hollywood, California, Jimmy Starr [typed in next to'Name'], L A Herald-Express [typed in next to'Publication'] Press, 1938, Jack Lawrence, Publicity Director. With "51" printed on the front of the card. On the verso it reads: Courtesy Parking at Santa Monica Blvd. And Formosa Avenue, Parking Permit, 51, This card must be Presented when leaving your car at lot. About fine with the barest hint of use. Jimmy Starr (1902 - 1990) is best known as a Hollywood columnist, though he was also a writer and actor, known for The Corpse Came C. (1947), A Night for Crime (1943) and Pink Pajamas (1929). Some of the Goldwyn films Mr. Starr may have enjoyed iinclude such popular productions released in 1938 as The Goldwyn Follies written by Ben Hecht starring Adolphe Menjou and The Ritz Brothers, The Adventures of Marco Polo starring Gary Cooper, and The Cowboy and the Lady starring Gary Cooper, Merle Oberon, and Patsy Kelly.
