Original "BAN ONE" Rear License Plate Displayed On The Rear Of The 1977 SE Trans Ams in the first "Smokey and the Bandit" movie cars! I bought this tag from the prop guy who had them made for the movie. The tag is made of cardboard and silk screened with "76 BAN ONE" on it.

They had a bunch made for the movie cars, and he had a few left over. An interesting tidbit about the tag. That's because all the cars used in the movie were actually Pontiac's 1976 Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Trans Ams that Pontiac fixed up for the Director, Hal Needham, to look like the new 77 Trans Ams that were about to come out. He liked the look better than the 76 front end. The movie was actually made and premiered in 1976!

I had the tag professionally framed in 2004, along with a photo from the movie showing the tag on the car, and it's been hanging in my office ever since. I thought a piece of history like this shouldn't be sitting in a filing cabinet. It measures 21" X 18" X 1.25 and weighs 6 lbs. Because of the glass on the front, it is very difficult to take a picture without glare and reflections. I took pictures at different angles and in two different rooms to try and give you a good idea of what it looks like.
