UNIQUE 1950 ORIGINAL Photo NEGATIVE - MARILYN MONROE in SWIMSUIT Frank Powolny ONE-of-a-KIND from The Photo Studio of 20th Century Fox. MM-5 N and MM-13 hand-notations on surface in India ink. Offered is a Vintage 1950, "ONE-of-a-KIND" original negative featuring a classic shot of Marilyn Monroe as captured by the renowned Frank Powolny of 20th Century Fox. Powolny was a chief portrait and still photographer at Fox from 1923 to 1966. He captured thousands of stars and starlets in studio and action photos that ended up in newspapers, magazines and theater lobbies worldwide (he also snapped a famous World War II pinup picture of Betty Grable). But it is Powolny's'bookend' works of Marilyn that we all remember. Powolny shot Marilyn before her fame in 1950 and one of the last of her for the studio before her death in 1962.
Here is a classic example of the former - a very young Marilyn is dressed in a one-piece swimsuit posing for Powolny's camera while standing on a diving board. An enlargement made from this gem would be RAZOR SHARP with optimal clarity where one would be able to see every fine detail of Monroe before she became a star!
