Vintage 1970 WALT DISNEY'S FANTASIA Re-Release PSYCHEDELIC One Sheet Orig Poster

OCTOBER 9: GREAT NEW LOWER PRICE! Vintage 1970 WALT DISNEY'S FANTASIA Theatrical Re-Release One Sheet Poster. Classic animated Walt Disney masterpiece originally released in 1940. This 1970 re-release one sheet shows the marketing strategy changing for the film embracing the psychedelic flower power times of the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was also the first time this film actually made enough revenue in this re-release to make the 1940 classic profitable for the Disney corporation. Condition is Used, Excellent/Very Fine given its 51 year old age. However some notes below about some areas to be aware of. Please review all photos carefully and decide for yourself how you would consider the condition of this one sheet. The photos are unfiltered and untouched.

One sheet was initially folded when delivered to the theater, then rolled for storage purposes. You can see some minimal typical unavoidable edge wear at the folds of the one sheet (see pics). I worked in and managed a movie theater in the early 1980s and this along with about a dozen vintage Disney posters from the 70s were found in a closet. Once found, this one and the others went right into storage.

Has been kept in a dark climate controlled storage facility for about 40 years to preserve the original colors and glossy finish. Has always been in a smoke free and odor free environment. Some minimal edge and surface wear throughout.

On the right side of the poster is a length-wise crease that is one inch from the border. The reason for this is when it was displayed in 1970, it was folded back to fit in the regular frames for one-sheets which are customarily 27 wide. There is also a small one inch rip along the same side about two-thirds of the way down the right side which was also part of the lengthwise section that had been folded over to accommodate the one inch difference between the theater display frame size and this oversized 28 wide one-sheet. The original finish and imagery remain excellent and vibrant. Ships in a new cardboard mailing tube.
