Willis O'Brien's Stop Motion Camera Filter Holders and Filter Case. These filter holder and the filters still in them where used in the various Mitchell Standard and High Speed cameras that shot the stop motion animation for King Kong including Eddie Lindens own Mitchell #66 High Speed Camera. Willis O'Brien continued to use these filter holders and filter case until 1959 when he completed The Giant Behemoth. This historic information came directly from conversations with Willis O'Briens wife Darlyne O'Brien and later confirmed by Willis O'Briens mentor and stop motion legend Ray Harryhasuen. The filter holders are made of steel.
The filters themselves are made of gelatin. The case is made of wood with a steel hinge and clasp. This item comes from the Nancy and Hal Miles Collection and is accompanied with a Letter Of Authenticity from Nancy and Hal Miles.
